Mass timber uses state-of-the-art technology to glue, nail or dowel wood products together in layers. The results are large, strong and highly versatile structural panels, posts and beams known as mass timber. Mass timber is sustainable and sequesters about 50% of its weight in carbon. It is very safe, is strong enough to replace steel and concrete and meets NZ’s building code,. Oboe works with selected manufacturers to design and precision machine mass timber including cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glue-laminated timber (glulam). Oboe integrates mass timber from design through to construction to optimize structural strength and energy efficiency, minimise waste, and maximise carbon sequestration.
